Christopher Norton here (yes, it really is!) just back from my Ontario Spring Tour, which encompassed Kingston, Sunderland, London, Orillia and Toronto. Lots of great Connections performances, the most striking being by a 5 year old student in Toronto (of The Young Rider) the most moving being by an adult in Orillia who had been inspired to get serious about piano study because he heard a student play Moonscape (which he also played, very expressively)
Lots of students played with tracks, mostly very well and some students made their own beginnings or endings up (I never object to this, but not in an examination please - you'll get me into trouble!)
It really is great to hear Connections being played by so many students, often so well. Scamp and Jane's Song were favourites, but I was also pleased to hear excellent performances of Contradance and Last September for example.
I'm back in Ontario in July (at Summer Sizzle) I look forward to seeing some of you then. Keep playing!
